Racing fans packed State Park Speedway in Rib Mountain Saturday. It was the first day of the racing season and a chance for fans to remember racing icon, Dick Trickle. People at the track observed a moment of silence for Trickle. He died Thursday in an apparent suicide at the age of 71. Race organizers said the event brought in more than 1,500 fans to watch the season's opening race and to remember Trickle's successful career."More >>
Cassandra joined the Newsline 9 Team in December of 2011 as a Wood County Bureau Multimedia Journalist. In October 2012, Cassandra joined the Wausau news team.
In May 2011 she graduated from Christopher Newport University with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Journalism. During her senior year Cassandra was the sports editor for CNU's newspaper, The Captain's Log. She also was a co-founder for the sports segment of her school's TV program, CNU TV.
During her college career Cassandra had an internship at WRC-TV 4 in Washington DC. She worked as a sports intern under her idol, Lindsay Czarniak. There she helped cover the Nationals and Redskins.
Cassandra grew up just outside of Washington DC, in Alexandria, Virginia. She loves watching sports and rooting on her New York Yankees.
She is excited to cover Central Wisconsin and explore all the things it has to offer.
