MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -- A Marathon County man accused of sexual assault took the stand in his own defense. Thursday was the fourth day of Timothy Grandison's jury trial.
Police said Grandison held a woman at knife point and assaulted her at the Rib Mountain Best Western where they both worked back in 2010. The state's witnesses spoke about the condition of the victim after the alleged assault -- and the defense focused on the Grandison's work ethic, saying he worked long hours as a hotel cook.
"I worked every day," said Grandison. "There wasn't a day when I was not there because I lived there."
"She [the alleged victim] was hysterical," said Marathon County Sheriff's Department Deputy Sheriff Dan Marsolek. "She had a very difficult time getting her composure. She was crying. Her face was flushed and red."
Grandison faces two felony sexual assault charges -- plus charges of kidnapping, armed robbery and obstructing an officer. Grandison is expected to take the stand again on Friday to finish his testimony.
