LANCASTER, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in Wisconsin's southwest corner say a pilot from Nebraska made a rough landing near a highway and ended up in a ditch after his plane ran out of fuel. The 68-year-old has been treated for minor injuries.

The Grant County sheriff's department says the landing happened Friday in rural Lancaster.

Dennis Dangberg of Windside, Neb., was flying home from Freeport, Ill., when he was forced to land the 1970 Beechcraft Baron about two miles from the Lancaster airport.

Deputies say Dangberg tried to land on a road but ended up in a ditch along Highway 61.

A Capital Times report says the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
