Who bought the $1,000,000 lottery ticket in Marshfield?
MARSHFIELD (WAOW) -- Someone bought a $1 million lottery ticket in Marshfield this weekend -- but no one knows who it was yet.
Daisy Werner said Friday seemed like just another day, while she worked at Weiler's convenience store. She says she's sold her fair share of lottery tickets since she started working there eight months ago, but it's the first time someone bought a Mega-Millions ticket -- that was actually worth a million dollars -- while she was working.
"It's really exciting," said Werner. "I've never really played the lottery so I guess I didn't really care before but now I kind of do."
Even though employees there said they don't know who it was, they said it was someone from the Madison area. Werner said Sunday was a busier-than-usual day for selling lottery tickets.
This is the second million-dollar winner in the state in less than a week. The first was a West Allis woman who won a million dollar Powerball prize last Saturday.
The winner has six months to get the ticket validated and claim the money. A spokesperson for the Wisconsin Lottery said the earliest the winner can claim their prize is Monday.
