James W. Nigbor age 73 of Stevens Point passed away Friday morning February 17, 2012 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.

A Mass of Christan Burial for James will be at 10:30 AM Thursday February 23, 2012 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church.  Rev. Greg Bohren will officiate.  Friends and relatives will gather to share memories on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point.  Visitation will also be held Thursday at the church from 9:30 - 10:15 AM.  Burial will be at the St. Stephen Cemetery.  Memorials in lieu of flowers will be established in James name, for the Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army, and Operation Bootstrap.

James was born November 4, 1938 in Stevens Point, the son of Ben and Kay (Gething) Nigbor.  He attended St. Stephen School and P.J. Jacobs High School.  He was a 1958 graduate of Kentucky Military Institute High School.  He earned his Business/Finance degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN.  James served his country in the National Guard.  After graduating from college he returned to the area and began his career at Nigbor Furs.  James married Mary Ann Cwiklo on January 27, 1968 in Eau Claire.  He served as president/owner of Nigbor Furs from 1968 until its sale in 1986.  Since that time he has been a self investor.  James enjoyed talking to other fellow investors, writing poetry, running, skiing, playing tennis, and was an avid Packer fan.  He served on the board of directors of the local Boys and Girls Club, YMCA and rang the bells for the Salvation Army for years. James is survived by his wife Mary Ann, and their two children:  Steve Nigbor, Raleigh, NC; Kari (Don) Grassman, Shawano.  Two grandchildren: Michael and Peter.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John.
