SHAWANO COUNTY (WAOW) -
UPDATE - Joshua Johnson of Wittenberg is accused of killing his father, 53 year old Donald Johnson, in Shawano County.
According to the sheriff's department, Joshua Johnson is being held in the Shawano County Jail on probable cause alleging first degree intentional homicide.
Authorities say Shawano County detectives are working with officials from the Wisconsin State Crime Lab to collect evidence.
Investigators tell us that the initial report into the death indicates a series of aggressive acts during the early morning hours that resulted in the death of Donald Johnson.
Sheriff's officials continue to look into exactly what happened.
Preliminary reports have been forwarded to the district attorney.

The Shawano County Sheriff's Department says it's investigating the death of a 53 year old Birnamwood man as a homicide.
Captain Thomas Tuma told Newsline 9 they're investigating it as a homicide because the man did not die of natural causes. He says authorities recovered a gun at the scene.
The Shawano County Sheriff's Department says they received a call from a 20-year-old man around 7:20 Tuesday morning. Authorities say the caller told the dispatcher a man was dead, and it was "the result of the actions of another."
When sheriff deputies arrived on scene, they took the 20-year-old into custody with incident.
But how the man died or why he was killed is a mystery. Capt. Tuma says investigators believe the two men knew each other but he didn't know if they were related.
Authorities say the 20-year old man remains in the Shawano County jail on probable charges. The Shawano County District Attorney is reviewing the case to determine any possible charges. The 20-year old has not been charged at this time.
The State Crime Lab and Shawano County Coroner's Office are assisting in the investigation.

One man is in custody following the death of a Birnamwood man on Tuesday morning.
At approximately 7:20 a.m., the Shawano Co. Sheriff's Dept. was alerted to a 53-year-old man's death in Birnamwood.
The person who called sheriff's dispatchers, a 20-year-old Birnamwood man, was taken into custody without incident. Sheriff's detectives say he is a person of interest in the death.
