WAUSAU (WAOW) -- An incumbent Wausau city councilman will advance to the April election.
Jim Brezinski received 70 percent of the vote in the Wausau District 4 race. Duane Maatz, who received 25 percent, will also advance.
Lavern Plantiko was the third candidate in that race. He received just 5 percent of the vote and will not advance.
Wausau voters also narrowed down the number of candidates in the school board race. Incumbent Michael Hartkopf was defeated in that election. He received just 9 percent of the vote.
The other six candidates will advance to the April election, including incumbent Michelle Schaefer.
