Family reacts to death of Schofield man

EMERALD GROVE-- The body of 36-year-old Lee Vesely of Schofield has been found.

Sgt. Josh Lund of the Rock County Sheriff's office says Vesely's body was discovered by a cadaver dog Sunday near the site where his crashed minivan was found on Thursday.

"We didn't expect to find him this way," said Vesely's uncle Emmery "Pete" Peterson, who was in Rock County looking for his nephew.

Vesely's family members came to Rock County after hearing about the car accident, and that he hasn't been seen since.

"There's cause for concern, family members started showing up from two hours away, that tells us something's wrong," said Lund about the initial investigation.

Vesely's body was found 460 feet from the crash site. Authorities say the warmer temperatures helped reveal his body under melting snow.

The death is under investigation.

Vesely's body has been taken to the Janesville Morgue at Mercy Hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Madison.
