Angeline Bessert, 97, Aniwa, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Langlade Hospital, Antigo. She was born on December 8, 1914 in the Township of Harrison, Marathon County, the daughter of the late Vincent and Anastazie (Zicmound) Kekula.  On May 6, 1940, Angeline was united in marriage to Elmer Bessert at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Antigo.  He preceded her in death on January 4, 2004.  Angeline was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Aniwa and it's Christian Mothers. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, decorating the alter with flowers, canning, sewing, seed catalogs and raising chickens.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include eight children; Audrey Montoure, Ladson, SC, Bernard (Mary Jane) Bessert, Aniwa, Louis Bessert, Antigo, Carol Muhs, Birnamwood, Benedict (Jodi) Bessert, Dunlop, TN, Mary (Larry) Clouse, Erwin, TN, Edward (Debra) Bessert, Aniwa and Kenneth (Barbara) Bessert, Aniwa, 50 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren and a brother; Frank Kekula, Antigo. In addition to her husband; Elmer, and parents; Vincent and Anastazie Kekula, Angeline was preceded in death by a son; James, a grandchild; Connie Bessert, a son-in-law; Edwin Muhs, a daughter-in-law; Mary Ann Kekula, four sisters and one brother. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church.  Fr. Everard Scesney O.F.M. will officiate.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 4pm to 8pm at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood with a Rosary Service at 7:30pm.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday at 10am until the time of service at the church.  The family guestbook and condolences are available at schmidtschulta.com.
