RIB MOUNTAIN (WAOW) -- The family of a Rib Mountain man, tased eight time, says officers too things too far.
Vili Yang's wife tells Newsline 9 she is now talking to a lawyer about what happened. Police arrested Yang on possible drug and battery charges.
Deputies say Yang became combative when they responded to his home Sunday for a domestic dispute call. Officers say they had to use force to get Yang into custody, tasing him eight times.
Family members declined an on-camera interview, but said officer used too much force. In a commitment for balance, we took their concerns to officials at the Marathon County Sheriff's Department.
"Right now what we are finding seems to be that everything went appropriately. I only say that now because I am still reviewing all the data and the tasers to determine," Lt. Dale Wisnewski said.
Lt. Wisnewski goes on to say that there is always an internal investigation when it comes to officers having to use force. But, he says, the department handled things appropriately.
Officers say they found drugs at Yang's home, such as cocaine, meth and ecstasy. But, he has not yet been formally charged.
Yang remains in the hospital, his condition has not been released.
It was a successful weekend hunt for numerous area kids who bagged their very first deer.
