WAUSAU (WAOW)--With schools canceling classes due to the snow, many parents and kids had to fun something to do.
For some it mean a chance to cross country or downhill ski, snowshoe, sled or skate.
Newsline 9 caught up with some families who told us they were having a great time. Becky Smith went to Riverside Park to take her children sledding and said, "It was a really mild winter, so this is a great chance to get outside. There's fresh air and the kids can wear off some energy."
Snowmen popped up all over town. At one home on the city's Southwest side, a family packed snow and built about 9 snowmen, women and children. Each decorated in a different theme. One wore Packers gear another a Hawaiian shirt and flowers another a water ski vest.
Something for everyone and an easy way to enjoy the winter weather.
