Rhinelander resident: "this is the worst I have seen it ever"
RHINELANDER (WAOW)--High winds and lots of snow made for rough driving conditions today. Some places saw more than a foot of snow.
A strong winter storm pounded Rhinelander overnight. The heavy, wet show kept people busy shoveling. While the adults were hard at work, many children enjoyed a day off from school. Our camera's caught one group of kids building an igloo.
With more than 16 inches of snow already on the ground in Rhinelander, Oneida Co. Emergency Management officials are urging everyone to stay off the roads until Thursday morning.
"The biggest issues that we are dealing with right now is our emergency services responses being slowed down," says Ken Kortenhof, Oneida Co. Emergency Management Director. "That's fire departments, ambulances, police services and stuff like that. "
While the worst of the storm is over, emergency officials say their main concern is power outages.
