SPARTA, Wis. (AP) -- Sparta police have arrested a 16-year-old student who investigators say made a "death list" of students and planned to bring a gun to school.
Police Chief Michael Kass says the motivation for the list of 26 students appears to be related to bullying the teen had experienced. Kass says there's no evidence the teen ever brought a gun to school, but did have access to guns at his home.
Kass says Sparta High School officials were made aware of the list Wednesday and police arrested the teen. The chief says the boy is being held outside the county. Kass says that given this week's shooting at Chardon High School in Ohio, the teen's threat was taken seriously.
He says the boy will be evaluated by mental health professionals.
