Antigo school district employee suspended after drug investigation

The Unified District of Antigo School Board has agreed on how to discipline an employee on leave because of an ongoing drug investigation.

During a closed session meeting Tuesday, the board voted to give aquatic center director Jeff Neufeld a 35-day suspension without pay, a reduction of responsibilities and wages, random drug testing, exclusion from coaching assignments and participation in counseling, according to a press release.

The press release further details that an independent investigation revealed that Neufeld has not used illegal drugs since 2008.

Three other school employees remain on leave. The board is still considering how to treat those cases.
