A judge has sentenced a 21-year-old Mequon man to life in prison for killing his parents at the family home last year.
Dennis Markov told the court Friday that he and his parents had a lot of arguments as he grew up, and he "decided to make that day the last time we'd argue."
Markov pleaded guilty last month to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the shooting deaths last April of 45-year-old Victor Markov and 39-year-old Larissa Markov.
District Attorney Adam Gerol says the Markovs, who emigrated from Ukraine, did everything right -- "Their only downfall was that their only child proved to be a monster."
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the judge decided that Dennis Markov serve 55 years before being considered for supervised release.
