It's been quiet this winter at Standing Rock Park's ski hill area. This morning the Portage County slopes were finally open, but few skiers and snowboarders can be found at the hill.
The parks director says that the lack of interest at this time during the season isn't unusual.
"At this point of the year people are already going to pack it in and our numbers usually drop pretty drastically," says Gary Speckmann, director at Standing Rock Park.
Speckmann doesn't expect for the ski hill to stay open for long either because of warmer weather conditions forecasted to roll in next week.
