MADISON (WAOW) -

Authorities had not yet released the name of the firefighter who was killed Sunday when Governor Scott Walker sent out his condolences over social media.

Around 8:00 a.m. Monday, Walker tweeted, "Our prayers are with family of Marathon Co Deputy Sheriff Jamison Kampmeyer who died as a volunteer fire fighter."

The Governor later removed the posting. A spokesman did not respond to our request for comment.

Jamison Kampmeyer died Sunday while fighting a fire at the Abby Theatre in Abbotsford. He was a Marathon County Sheriff's Deputy and a volunteer firefighter in Colby.
