UWSP letter to students about Duffey's death

UWSP Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Al Thompson sent out the following letter to students and staff about the death of Eric Thompson.

Dear University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Students, Faculty and Staff,

It is with sadness I share with you that Eric Duffey, a senior wildlife ecology major at UW-Stevens Point, died early Saturday morning after accidentally falling into the Wisconsin River. Our deepest sympathy goes to Eric's parents, family, and many friends. Please be mindful of the privacy of Eric's family and friends during this difficult time.

Counseling Services, the Employee Assistance Program, and other Student Affairs staff offer support and services to those impacted by this unexpected loss.  The staffs of Counseling Services (located in Delzell Hall - 715-346-3553) and the Student Affairs Office (located in Old Main - 715-346-2481) are available to any member of our campus community in need of support.

During this difficult time, I would ask that you please take time to care and support one another.

Al Thompson
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
