Gas prices cause students to make creative spring break plans
Gas prices are making several UW Stevens Point Students rethink their getaway plans for Spring Break. But, there are a few students who found creative ways to get to their dream destination: Daytona Beach, Florida.
Kelsey Butters, Ryan Smith, and Danae Jaslow each plan on driving down their own cars. They say that costs less to drive than to fly.
"I wouldn't even consider it. They were about four hundred bucks per person," says Jaslow.
Still there are other students, like Katherine Allen, who have to stay home because the cost of gas is so high it makes it nearly impossible for them to travel long distances by car.
"It's too expensive usually to really go somewhere."
But, Allen still plans on having a fun break.
"I'll go out with friends maybe," says Allen. "Pretty much just hang out and take a break from school."
But, whether its staying at home or going to the beach, it seems like these students are determined to have a good time either way.
