People enjoy record-breaking temps in central Wisconsin

MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW)-- Four cities broke records for high temperatures on Saturday, including Wausau. People couldn't wait to get outside and enjoy the warm weather.

"Walking is good. Shopping. And we're out where there's outdoor shops because it's nice," said Barb Krall who was visiting with her daughter.

While some hit the bike trail or walked around the 400 Block, others sought out a cool treat.

"Nice day out, just wanted to get some ice cream," Zach Ziebell said. He opted for a cookie dough blizzard.

Dairy Queen employees said the line was never-ending Saturday. "We normally make blizzards all the time and our most popular one today was the mint Oreo," said Amber Cossette.

In Rib Mountain, plant preps are already underway for spring.

"We're working. This is our time of year to work," said Mary Ruplinger, owner of Garden Path Greenhouses.

Some people told Newsline 9 this weekend's weather has them ready for summer.
