Website launched for public assistance fraud

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A new website has been launched for reporting public assistance fraud in Wisconsin.

The Office of the Inspector General within the state Department of Health Services started the website this week.

Anyone who suspects fraud in programs including Medicaid, FoodShare and BadgerCare can report it online at or by calling the fraud hotline at 1-877-865-3432.

Inspector General Alan White says the goal is to make reporting fraud as easy as possible.

The first three months of the hotline 410 calls were received. Nearly half of them resulted in further investigation.
