Warm weather heats up business across Central Wisconsin

WAUSAU (WAOW)-- At least 19 cities across north central and north east Wisconsin broke records this weekend.

Businesses are benefiting from the warm weather. Spring like conditions sent customers to Gander Mountain in Rothschild. A manager there said the store has seen an increase in warm-weather gear and fishing supplies.

Many hopped on their bicycles to enjoy the sunshine this weekend. Bike shops say people are rolling in to take advantage of the temperature outside.

"It's been absolutely crazy. It's a month early and people are flocking in, in droves," says John Nowaczyk, owner, Sprocketz Bike Shop "We are trying to be ready. It's early and it's been great. Lot's of people coming in."

An employee with Granite Peak in Rib Mountain says all ski runs are still open. Skiers said the conditions were a little slushy on Sunday, but still enjoyable..

But with temperatures 20 degrees above average, we'll have to wait and see if winter is finally over.
