Teen charged in threats against Wis. high school

MILWAUKEE (AP) -

A Milwaukee youth is charged with two counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly threatening to shoot up Menomonee Falls High School.

School district spokesman Mitch Maersch says the 17-year-old is no longer attending school in the district.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/yPpSyk ) the incident occurred Jan. 27. Some parents have said they didn't know about the case and should have been told.

In an automated phone call to parents Friday, Kathy Zarling, the district's director of pupil services, said parents are normally informed of threats, but this threat was made only in the presence of 2 adults - a police officer and an administrator - and no students were present. She says it happened one day after the youth made inappropriate but nonthreatening comments to some students and a teacher.
