William "Bill" Selck


William "Bill" Selck age 61 of Stevens Point passed away Sunday March 11, 2012 after a brief but brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Bill was in the care of Ministry Home Hospice Care, and surrounded by his family.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday May 26, 2012 at Iverson Park.  Donations in lieu of flowers will be appreciated by the family, in Bill's name to Ministry Health Hospice or Team Vogel vs. Cancer; an organization supporting cancer research.

Bill was born November 24, 1950 in Stevens Point, the son of Rolland and Alberta (Hilt) Selck.  He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1969, he then worked in construction for a few years which brought him to Scottsbluff, NE where he met his wife. Bill married

Peggy Engleman on August 14, 1976 in Stevens Point, the couple settled in Stevens Point.  He worked at Americold Logistics in Plover for 30 years. Bill enjoyed playing and coaching basketball, watching high school and college sports.  He was an avid reader, and loved spending time with his family and friends.  He and Peggy enjoyed traveling with their family, and were active members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Bill is survived by his wife Peggy and their 3 children:  Kate (Ryan) Skappel, Inver Grove Heights, MN; Kassie Selck, Stevens Point; Drew Selck, Stevens Point.  3 grandchildren:  Ashleigh Ruth, Macy Jo, and William Ryan.  His sister: Diane (Hank) Zblewski. Nieces: Leanne (Tim) Krutza, Tamara (Brian) Bates, Tracy (Tim) Mueller.  Great Nieces and Nephews: Nick and Jake Krutza, Tyler and Brooke Bates, Brennan and Bowen Mueller.  Brothers-in-law: Larry (Tami) Engleman and family; Tom Engleman and family; Steve (Marilyn) Engleman and family all residing in Nebraska.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bobbi Spangler, Brother-in-law Larry Sokolowski, Mother and Father-in law: Ruth and Don Engleman and his special pet Max.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.shudafuneral.com
