Bulldozer operator rescued at Wis. coal terminal

SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) -- Firefighters have rescued a bulldozer driver who became trapped in a stockpile of coal at a Superior terminal.

The Duluth News Tribune reports the operator backed into a hole on the stockpile at Midwest Energy Terminal around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Superior Fire Battalion Chief Vern Johnson says just the tip of the bulldozer's blade was sticking out of the hole.

Firefighters set anchors, donned safety harnesses and descended into the hole to free the driver from the bulldozer.

The man wasn't seriously hurt. He was taken to a hospital.
