BEAVER DAM, Wis. (AP) -- Dodge County authorities say a driver who tried to beat a moving train is lucky to have escaped a collision with no injuries. Beaver Dam police Lt. Brandon Stommel says witnesses saw the driver speed up when he saw the freight train coming Saturday afternoon. The car clipped the front of the 28-car train. However, the driver and two passengers were unharmed. Sheriff's deputies who responded found all three walking around at the scene. Stommel says it has just plain luck that none of the three was hurt. The collision happened along Highway 151. A WTMJ-TV report says parts of the highway were closed for about two hours. ------ (Copyright 2012 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
