Dominican wins D4 state title



MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Duane Wilson scored 24 points as Whitefish Bay Dominican cruised to a 61-43 victory over Cuba City in the WIAA Division 4 state boys' basketball title game on Saturday in Madison.

   Wilson was 5 of 8 from 3-point range as the Knights (27-1) made 10 of 22 shots from beyond the arc. The junior guard hit back-to-back 3s in the second quarter as Dominican opened up a double-digit lead.

   Jamall Taylor had 18 points for the Knights, who jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter.

   Trent Denlinger had 10 points and 12 rebounds for Cuba City (27-1). The Cubans pulled within 12-9 at the end of the first quarter before Wilson led Dominican on a 9-0 run to open the second period.
