Charles E. Schmidt, 90, of Plover, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.
He was born on April 7, 1921, in Marshfield, to the late Emil and Mathilda (Rose) Schmidt. On Feb. 22, 1944, his marriage to Shirley Milloy took place at St. James Catholic Church in Vesper. Shirley died on Sep. 16, 2009.
Charles was a truck driver for Moland Trucking and later retired from Glendenning Motorways. He was a lifelong deer hunter.
Survivors include his son, Greg (Carrie) of Prudenville, Mich.; daughter, Lucy (David) Ksionsk of Stevens Point; four grandchildren, Rhonda (Bill) Lowery, Shelly (Randy) Robinson, Karla (Roscoe) Kincheloe and Todd (Mary) Ksionsk; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by two daughters, Marilyn and Phyllis; and two grandsons, Corey and Greg, Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road, Plover, with Deacon Art Schaller officiating. Entombment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday.
