New truck aims to help food delivery in Marathon Co.
WAUSAU (WAOW) -
A new truck will help deliver food to people in Marathon County.
The Marathon County Hunger Coalition held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday in Wausau to celebrate the purchase of the new vehicle. Leaders say the truck will make transporting food easier, and it will allow them to reach more rural areas.
"We can do pick up and delivery of large amounts of food and all members of the Hunger Coalition will be able to use the truck," said Sue Haupt, United Way of Marathon County communications director.
The used truck cost $22,000. It was purchased through donations from the Greenheck Foundation, Brickner Family Auto, and one anonymous individual.
