Catherine "Kay" Czlapinski

Catherine "Kay" Czlapinski age 81, of Stevens Point passed away Saturday March 24, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Kay will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday March 28, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Kay was born May 21, 1930 in the Town of Linwood, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Langer) Flaig. She attended P.J.Jacobs High School. She worked at Frost Fly Tying Factory, before her marriage to Joseph Narel Jr on July 29, 1950 in Stevens Point. Joseph passed away in 1953. Kay married Harold "Bud" Czlapinski Sr on June 1, 1955 in Nekoosa. The couple settled in Stevens Point, and owned and operated K's Tropical Pet Shop from

1969 - 79. Kay enjoyed trout fishing, card playing, gardening, puzzles, and was an avid reader. She was a member of St. Joseph's St. Annes Society, T.O.P.S., and the Lincoln Center Walking Club.

Kay is survived by her children: Gail (Terry) Benzine, Custer; Michael

(Nancy) Czlapinski, Oshkosh, Dennis (Elaine) Czlapinski, Stevens Point, Rick

(Kim) Czlapinski, West St. Paul, Minn., Harold (Talana) Czlapinski, Omaha, NE, Darold (Vickie) Czlapinski, Farmington, N.M., and Joseph Czlapinski, Stevens Point. 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 2 sisters:

Evelyn (Sam) Isherwood, Delavan and Helen Niemczyk, Stevens Point. 2

brothers: Ray Flaig, Stevens Point and Walter (Lillian) Flaig, Rudolph. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Joseph in 1953 and Bud in 2002, one son, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
