Gov. Walker responds to recall poll results

Gov. Scott Walker says he's encouraged by a recent poll ahead of a likely recall election.

That poll from Marquette Law School shows Walker leading Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett by a small margin, 47 to 45 percent.

The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 3.8 percent.

In that same poll, Barrett leads all other potential Democratic candidates, even though he hasn't announced he's running yet.

Walker defeated Barrett in the governor's race in 2010.

At a stop in Marshfield Wednesday afternoon, Gov. Walker told Newsline 9 what he thinks of the recent poll.

"I think after a year of millions of dollars being poured in against me and bodies being brought against me, I think that's actually pretty remarkable that we are still leading the pack," said Walker.

The purpose of Walker's visit to Marshfield was to sign several healthcare bills. One allows electronic prescriptions for some substances instead of paper prescriptions. Another makes it easier for some patients to access health care from physician assistants. A third creates standards for anesthesiologists assistants.
