A 56-year-old Gleason man died early Thursday after being hit by a truck.
The Lincoln County Sheriff says the victim is Ralph Bell of Gleason.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened just before 2:00 a.m. outside the Gleason bowling alley. A caller told dispatch that a truck hit a man who was lying in the lane of traffic at the time of the accident, according to the press release.
The man was flown to Aspirus Wausau Hospital but was pronounced dead four hours later.
The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted in reconstructing the accident. Authorities do not believe another car is involved. They also don't believe alcohol or speed is a factor for the driver of the truck. However alcohol or a medical issue may have been a factor for the pedestrian, according to the press release.
Authorities are still investigating. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
