Myron T. Lubinski

Myron T. Lubinski age 76 of Stevens Point passed away Wednesday March 28, 2012 at St. Michaels Hospital, with his family at his side. Myron fought a courageous battle with recently diagnosed cancer and ongoing heart ailments.
Funeral services for Myron will be held at Noon on Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. Dwayne Habrat Pastoral Minister at St. Stanislaus Church will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral chapel. The American Legion Post #6 of which Myron is a member will conduct a ritual at 10:30 AM at the funeral chapel. Memorials will be established in his name in lieu of flowers for the American Cancer Society and the Portage County Humane Society.
Myron was born August 29, 1935 in Stevens Point, the son of Theodore and Anna (Jazdzewski) Lubinski. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1953 and entered the United States Army in January 25, 1955. He served his country as a PVT-1, earned the Good Conduct Medal, and was a decorated sharpshooter.
After his honorable discharge on November 9, 1956 from Ft. Sheridan, IL.,
Myron attended and graduated from Wausau Vocational School with a degree in cabinet carpentry in 1960. He worked at Stasko-Hoppe Construction before accepting a position with Consolidated Paper in 1962. Myron retired as a machine tender from Consolidated in 1997. He married Mary Ann Janis on August 2, 1960 in Dubuque, IA. During the 1960's he also tended bar for a number of establishments in the area, where he formed many friendships. Myron loved woodworking and continued that passion up until his health would not allow it. He also enjoyed muskie fishing, going up north camping, traveling with his family throughout Wisconsin, his Border Collies, but most of all loved being with his family.
Myron is survived by his wife Mary Ann: their four children: Cindy (Greg) Gillis, Waunakee; Scott (Becky) Lubinski, West Chicago, IL; Cathy (Brad) Waite, Stevens Point; Michael Lubinski, Plover. 7 grandchildren: Heather, Brittany, Delaney, Vivian, Bryan, Daniel, and Joey. One great granddaughter: Jadelyn. One brother David Lubinski, Stevens Point and many close and special friends.
