MADISON (AP) -
Republican Texas Rep. Ron Paul says he thinks embattled Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is trying hard to change things in a positive way.
Paul made his comments praising Walker following his only planned campaign stop in Wisconsin on Thursday on the University of Wisconsin campus. The state's presidential primary is Tuesday.
Paul was asked if he supports Walker who is facing a recall election this spring over anger related to his proposal enacted last year that effectively ended collective bargaining rights for most state workers.
Paul says he doesn't know enough about what Walker did to make any comment in detail, but in general he thought Walker was making positive changes.
Paul says he doesn't think unions should have any extra clout and the free market should dictate.
