WAUSAU (WAOW)--State election leaders predict 35% of the eligible voters in Wisconsin will cast ballots today.
The Marathon County Clerk echoes that same prediction of 35%. Nan Kottke says,"The GOP Primary is a big draw on the ballot. But, there are many local elections that will be decided that bring voters to the polls. In Wausau, there is the Mayoral race and there are also contests for County Board Supervisors.
Voters at a polling place in Wausau told us they think there is growing interest by voters to get involved in the political process. Lee Ann Sampe says, "People are motivated because of the economy they want to voice their opinions more than they did before."
