Joining the search is a mega-yacht owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, who visited nearby Guam about a week ago.

Palau presidential spokesman Fermin Meriang tells Pacific Daily News officers fired when the fishing boat tried to ram their boat Sunday. Five Chinese fishermen have been charged with illegal fishing.

Palau is some 500 miles east of the Philippines.
