Falk turns in 4,000 signatures in recall

MADISON (AP) -

Democrat Kathleen Falk has turned in what she says is the maximum number of nomination signatures to run against Republican Gov. Scott Walker in this spring's recall election.

Falk needed to collect at least 2,000 signatures to get on the ballot. The most she could collect was 4,000. The deadline for turning signatures into the Government Accountability Board is Tuesday.

Falk showed up at the board around 9:30 Tuesday morning with a box of folders she said contained 4,000 names. She told reporters nomination signatures came into her campaign from all around the state.

Walker faces a recall election on June 5. Falk is one of four Democrats vying to challenge him. Voters will select one of them in a May 8 primary.
