So long moon base, 9-9-9, sweater vests and 'oops'

The Republican primary campaign is already fading into memory. Remember Herman Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan? Newt Gingrich's "moon base" proposal? Rick Perry's "oops" moment -- when he couldn't recall that third federal agency he wanted to eliminate?

Even Rick Santorum's sweater vests are back in the closet.

A primary's losing slogans and all-the-rage moments don't last long. But a few probably will have legs through the general election, thanks to Barack Obama's campaign. For example, the president doesn't want voters to forget the primary campaign's recurring reminders of Mitt Romney's personal wealth.
