PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's track & field team collected 67 team points on Saturday afternoon to finish sixth in a field of 11 teams at the 2012 UW-Platteville Invitational. The field featured several of the nation's top-ranked programs.
Top finishers form the day included:
Babatunde Awosika (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee School of Arts)finished with the top time in the 400-meter run, posting a time of 47.98.
Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) posted a second place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.41. Alex Steiner (Chilton, WI/Chilton) and Scott Berry (Rudolph, WI/Lincoln) finished 5-6 in the event with times of 1:53.61 and 1:53.67, respectively.
Logan Seipel (Colfax, WI/Colfax) finished fifth in the 1500-meter run, posting a time of 4:03.03.
Zach Yindra (Appleton, WI/Kimberly) finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with his time of 56.42.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Zach Scott-Keyers, Awosika, Yindra and Andrew Jacobs posted a fifth-place finish with a time of 42.93.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Scott-Keyser, Jacobs, Daniel Ostrowski (Wautoma, WI/Wautoma) and Awosika finished third with a time of 3:19.68.
Zachary Mixdorf (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) finished second in the high jump, clearing 1.95 meters (6' 4 ¾")
Evan Hutichson posted a fourth place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 14.10 meters (46' 3 ¼")
The Pointers return to action on April 20-21 at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. at the Meet of Champions.
