Update: Storm potential overnight Sunday

UPDATE 10:50 PM Sunday: The Tornado Watch issued by the National Weather Service for Clark, Taylor and Jackson Counties has been dropped.

The NWS issued the watch box late Sunday afternoon for the potential of seeing tornadoes develop in the region.

Several reports of tornado touchdowns were reported Minnesota on Sunday evening.  Large hail and strong wind reports from severe thunderstorm cells associated with the storm system were reported in areas of the Upper Midwest.

Through the overnight hours of Sunday and the early morning hours of Monday, the risk of seeing some locally strong to potentially severe thunderstorms remains possible.  The greatest risk of strong or severe weather appears now to be in the form of gusty winds and hail.

Stay tuned to Newsline 9, waow.com and your NOAA Weather Radio for the latest on the potential of severe weather this evening.
