UWSP women's tennis falls to St. Mary's


STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 match against the 25th-ranked Cardinals of Saint Mary's University on Sunday morning.

The Pointers lone victory of the day came at No. 3 singles where Katelyn Presti (Janesville, WI/Parker) and Kaitlyn Ross posted an 8-3 victory over Grace Zachman and Lexi Felten.

In doubles action, the Pointers took two matches to a super-tiebreak including Rachel Brown (Neenah, WI/St. Mary Central) at No. 1 and Monica Preisig (Wausau, WI/West) at No. 4, but the Cardinals managed victories to cruise to the victory.

The Pointers (2-11) return to action when they host the UWSP Triangular tennis tournament April 21 at SentryWorld in Stevens Point. Action kicks-off at 9 a.m. as the Pointers host Lawrence University.
