Listening sessions held for Marshfield Library changes

The public was invited to a series of listening sessions about potential multi-million dollar changes to the Marshfield Library.

The options they are looking at include building a whole new library or expanding the existing one. Another plan calls for connecting the building to the existing senior center.

Library leaders say the changes are necessary because the building hasn't been updated since 1995.

"We have needs in regards to the children's center, better teen center, genealogy sections, and meeting room spaces in general," said Library Director Lori Belongia.

Two more listening sessions will be held on Friday. Project leaders say that information will be used by the committee at their meeting in May. They say they hope to have an option picked soon.
