Felony charge filed against former tavern league secretary/treasurer

LINCOLN COUNTY (WAOW) -

A felony charge was filed Friday against the former secretary/treasurer of the Tomahawk/Merrill Tavern League.

Lincoln County investigators say the tavern league found discrepancies in their bookkeeping. Detectives say Rhonda Wiese took more than $20,000 from the league and used it for personal expenses.

Wiese recently resigned her position as the league secretary/treasurer. Her husband, Terry Wiese, resigned as president.

Newsline 9 got in touch with Terry but he had no comment.

Paul Werner was named president. Deb Smith is now the treasurer and Bonnie Kolar the secretary.

The felony charge is theft-business setting of more than $10,000.

Wiese's initial appearance is scheduled for May 17th.
