Seidl earns third WIAC player of week


MADISON, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point junior pitcher Cam Seidl (Appleton, WI/Fox Valley Lutheran) has garnered his third Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Pitcher of the Week award for his efforts last week for the Pointers.

Against Oshkosh on Wednesday, Seidl came on in relief and recorded saves in both games of the doubleheader sweep. On Sunday in the Pointers victory over the Warhawks, he tossed his third shutout of the season, allowing just two hits in a complete game victory. Seidl threw 9.2 innings on the week and allowed just three hits in three appearances. He stuck out six batters and did not allow a run.

Seidl and the Pointers close out the regular season on Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, with a four game series against UW-Platteville at University Field in Stevens Point. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 1 p.m.
