Wis. recall pits friends against each other

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -

Republican Gov. Scott Walker and his Democratic rivals aren't the only ones who can't get along as this spring's recalls heat up. Neither can some families and friends across Wisconsin.

As the June 5 recall election draws near, some people have stopped talking to each other about the governor. A Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday found nearly a third of voters who responded said they have stopped talking with someone about politics because of disagreements over the recalls or Walker.

Joni Bozart runs Carousel Consignments in Janesville. She says people come into her store constantly and get into arguments about Walker. She says she hasn't heard people argue this much since the Green Bay Packers traded quarterback Brett Favre. She says she wishes people would just stop fighting.
