Haen, Kline lead UWSP to 7th place finish at outdoor championships

WHITEWATER, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point women's track and field team collected two conference titles and 58 team points to finish in seventh place out of nine teams at the 2012 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by UW-Whitewater.

Erin Kline (Casco, WI/Luxemburg-Casco) set a new conference meet record in the 100-meter hurdles on her way to a league title with a time of 14.39. She also posted a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.44.

Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) also won league title in the 5k, posting a time of 17:47.04.

Other highlights included:

Hannah School (Wittenberg, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) finished seventh in the finals of the 100-meter dash, posting a time of 12.61.

Alexa Lewin (Appleton, WI/Freedom) finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a time of 15.56 in the event finals.

Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) finished seventh in the finals of the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.12.

Kelsey Laska (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community) finished eighth in the 1500-meter run, posting a time of 4:52.64.

Julia Colling (Maplewood, MN/North) finished third in the 5k, two spots behind Haen, posting a time of 17:57.75.

Nicole Hillman (Marshall, WI/Marshall) finished sixth in the 10k run, posting a time of 39:01.79.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Nicole Hanson (Clintonville, WI/Clintonville), Kelsey Laska (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community), Haen and Mathes finished fourth with a time of 9:24.96.
