Athens middle-school ball player heads to Cooperstown

The Wisconsin All Star baseball team has players from Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay and Athens.
Marshall Westfall has a fastball that touches 70 mph.  That comes at a distance of 46 feet.  On a major league baseball mound, that equates to 95 mph.

Marshall has been chosen to make the Wisconsin All Star baseball team.  He'll go to Cooperstown this summer and play against teams from all over the world.

Athens hosts just one baseball league.  Marshall heads to a more competitive league in Marshfield and this season, he's struck out all 18 batters he's faced.

Marshall's favorite player is Giants Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum.  And you can see a little resemblance in his delivery.

If he wants to practice, he can just head outside to the baseball field Rick built when Marshall was six years old.

He'll need that practice this summer, playing against the best competition he's ever seen. Marshall hopes this trip to Cooperstown won't be the only time he'll earn a spot to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
