"Fake" Democrat Buckley loses in recall primary.

A "fake" Democrat has been defeated. James Buckley, Antigo, was one of many "fake" democrats that ran to force primaries.

Buckley ran in the 29th state senate district, losing to Donna Seidel. He says state Republican leaders picked him to face Seidel in the election.

Running as "fake" candidate was a political move that angered some voters. Buckley told Newsline 9 it's a move he would do again.

"The objective was to make the election fair," said Buckley. "Not to have Governor Walker on a separate election day as the rest of the candidates. It was to coordinate the election. This recall was a waste of time to begin with. It's just because the unions didn't get their way. They thought they would bully their way into getting their way, and I hope the people answer loud and clear to the unions. We can't afford unfunded liabilities, we can't afford the incestuous relationship between the democrats and the unions, because that puts the tax payer at a disadvantage and the tax payer has disadvantaged too long."

Buckley said he did not call Donna Seidel to congratulate her.
