Three women are recognized for their leadership and volunteer activities with Women of Vision awards. The Wausau YWCA has handed out the honors since 1993. More than 60 area women have been recognized.
The 2012 honorees are: Pamela Frary, Sharon Hunter and Beverley Smith. Hundreds gathered for a luncheon to recognize them at The Rose Garden in Wausau.
The keynote speaker of the event was the Sue Ann Thompson, former First Lady of Wisconsin. She is a breast cancer survivor and the founder of the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation, a non-profit devoted to women's health issues.
Women of Tomorrow awards were also handed out to several area students: Calla Buttke, Sarah Connolly, Susan Krolow and Janelle Vircks.
