GM pulls Facebook advertising

General Motors announced Tuesday it's putting the brakes on paid advertising on Facebook.

The automaker says the ads weren't generating enough sales to justify the expense.

A report by the Wall Street Journal said G-M had been spending 10-million-dollars on the social networking site.

General Motors will still have a presence on Facebook.

Fan pages for its various brands, including Buick, Chevrolet and Opel-- as well as for General Motors itself --will continue to be updated, according to the company.
